Car Loans customers may want to keep an eye out for the upcoming Lotus Evora after it came out top in a recent poll.

The model was named iMotor Magazine's Overall Most Rated Car of 2008, after 95 per cent of readers gave it the thumbs up.

Chief executive officer of Lotus Mike Kimberley expressed delight at the accolade, adding he was particularly pleased because the vehicle was not due to arrive in showrooms until spring next year.

Meanwhile, iMotor editor Mat Watson said the award was unique because the winners were chosen by the publication's readers.

Commenting on the Evora's popularity, he said: "Its ... score of 95 per cent is truly impressive and enough to see it beat brilliant machines such as the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 and Nissan GT-R."

Last month, Lotus picked up the Editor's Special Award for Excellence from Autocar.
