Car Loans customers who desperately need to replace their current motors - but are also trying to tighten their belts as a result of the economic downturn - may want to pay their local Kia dealership a visit.

The manufacturer's Sportage model has just been named Value for Money Champion for the third year in a row by Planet 4x4 magazine.

Commenting on the winning vehicle, editor Alan Kidd said: "Each year our testers are startled afresh by what a practical, well-built, well-equipped and good-to-drive package it delivers, at a price that makes most other manufacturers look greedy."

Kia explained a number of improvements had been put in place since the car's previous victory.

It stated the model now includes upgraded suspension, a better braking system, more comfortable seating and higher specification equipment.

Earlier this month, the Kia pro_cee'd was handed the title of Car of the Year 2008 by the television programme Auto Mundial.
