People planning on taking out Car Loans for the new Audi R8 V10 will be the first drivers to own vehicles with headlamps which are entirely reliant on light-emitting diodes (LED), the manufacturer has claimed.

It explained the technology has been used for low and high beam settings on the model, as well as for indicators and daytime running lights.

Audi said the headlamps intensify "the visual drama" of the vehicle, adding the LED technology put the company "light years" ahead of the competition.

Commenting on the innovation, spokesman Wolfgang Huhn stated: "Everyone who has seen these lights in action is not only astonished by the excellent output but also thrilled with the homogenous distribution of light and the agreeable daylight-esque colour."

In other Audi news, the manufacturer recently announced its new A3 Black Edition model is due to arrive in UK showrooms in February and will be available to car loans customers from £22,215.
