Saab may attract green car loans customers

26 February 2009

Motorists looking to take out Car Loans for an environmentally-friendly vehicle may want to pay a visit to their nearest Saab dealership.

The manufacturer has announced its 9-3 diesel model now boasts better fuel consumption and lower carbon dioxide emissions.

It explained this has been made possible through the introduction of Saab EcoPower Technology.

People opting for the 1.9TiD 150hp/110kW engine will find the car emits 137 g/km of carbon dioxide and is capable of 54.3 mpg.

The improvements have been achieved through the use of wider gear ratios, idle and low engine speed remapping, a longer final drive - and new wheels and tyres.

Acceleration from zero to 60 mph has been unaffected by the changes.

Saab pointed out car loans customers may find they enjoy tax-related benefits as a result of the reduced carbon dioxide emissions.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer's 9-3X is due to make its world premiere at the Geneva motor show next week.
