22 April 2009

Car Loans customers looking to buy the new Golf GTD have been advised how much they will need to borrow.

Volkswagen has revealed prices for the performance diesel will start at £21,850 for the six-speed manual, three-door model.

Buyers looking to purchase the five-door edition of the car will be asked to pay an extra £585 and those who prefer the automatic gearbox will need to stump up an additional £1,305.

Motorists in the UK can order the Golf GTD immediately, with the first deliveries scheduled for June 22nd.

The model is equipped with a 2.0-litre common rail TDI engine, which allows the vehicle to accelerate from standing to 62 mph in 8.1 seconds before powering on to a top speed of 138 mph.

Meanwhile, the vehicle boasts carbon dioxide emissions of 139 g/km and typical fuel consumption of 53.3 mpg.

Earlier this month, the Volkswagen Golf scooped the title of 2009 World Car of the Year.
