Chrysler to raise finances for reintroduction of Fiat into the US

06 July 2010

If you enter the good old United States of America for a holiday and decide you need a small Italian supermini to cart your way around, then we wouldn’t recommend asking for a Fiat. If you did, you would probably be left a bit embarrassed when the dealer replies; “What’s a Fiat?”

Surprisingly, the popular Italian marque hasn’t been shipped to the US since the ‘80s, but all that is about to change. Chrysler has decided to raise its finances and reintroduce the Fiat brand later this year. The first offering will come in the shape of the cutesy, MINI rivaling 500.

It’s an interesting move by Chrysler, whose own Car Finances haven’t exactly been flourishing lately. However, we can’t see why the Fiat brand won’t succeed across the pond. If it’s good enough for us, it’s definitely good enough for the Yanks.
