247 Money Underwriter, Thomas Hanson, talks about how working at the company has given him the opportunity to learn additional skills and helped him grow both personally and within his team.
Tell me about your role as an underwriter
As an underwriter, my role is to make sure that the customer that is being introduced to us meets the criteria for 247 Money and that we're a suitable lender for their needs. We ensure that the finance we provide is affordable for each customer based on their circumstances.
What made you want to join 247 Money?
After working for the broker for three and a half years, 247 Money provided an opportunity to learn additional skills and to grow both personally and professionally. With the team growing significantly since I started in December 2019, it's been an exciting time to be part of the company.
How do you stay motivated?
My team. There's no need to self-motivate as we all motivate each other every day. We're always pushing each other to provide affordable finance to more customers each month.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The atmosphere in the office is always positive with everyone working together to reach new heights. The management, when looking for new team members, don't just look at the skills of the person joining but at their attitude and how they would fit within the group.
What has been your biggest challenge so far?
With 247 Money constantly growing, we've brought in several new processes to help increase business volume and, as a result, we've been getting busier. The challenge has been to keep up with the changes, but don't get me wrong, they're all positive updates!
Where do you see yourself in five years' time?
In five years, I would hope that I would still be with 247 Money, having been with 247 Group for over 10 years. I would hopefully be in a more senior role, potentially leading a team and helping 247 Money establish themselves even more.
