Documentation

Documentation

Whether you live in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, the documents you need to show us when making an application for car finance are broadly the same. Some applications, though, might require additional documents, depending on your circumstances.

In general, a lender will need to see proof of licence, proof of income and proof of address.

Proof of income is usually in the form of payslips or bank statements and proof of address tends to be from a utility bill although other documentation is accepted. Upon approval, a lender will identify which of these it is that they in particular need the customer to provide.

This basic documentation will be needed regardless of whether your credit is excellent or poor. We do, in fact, work with a number of lenders that can help those with bad credit, including those that have been refused elsewhere.

The precise documentation you may be asked to provide of course, may vary from one finance provider to another and there may be additional documentation that you need to provide on top of the basic stated above. This will be communicated with you upon approval.

For example, if you’re self-employed, you may need to furnish the accounts of your business or the bank account through which your business activity is transacted for one lender but may not need to for another.

We can help customers from throughout the UK with car finance, and we do still have finance options available for those that have less than 3 years’ address history.

We can help those that have previously had driving convictions or bans too – provided that you aren’t currently banned from driving and subject to additional checks.

Of course, no car finance provider can guarantee the offer of a car loan, but we do our best to consider all financial circumstances (e.g. employed, self-employed, in receipt of benefits etc.)

Remember, it’s not just car finance that we can offer – we can offer finance on vans, motorbikes, motorhomes and taxis too!
