Help & Advice

I'm 22 and have bad credit. I've passed my test and need car finance.

Hi, i have bad credit from when i was 18 and very silly. I am 22 now and have passed my driving test and i also have 2 jobs. I haven't had any finance and would like to get a car. I do have 500 pounds deposit. Can you help me?

Rachael

Answer

Hi Rachael, great to hear from you and thank you for your question. Congratulations on passing your driving test too.

We'd love to be able to help and now that you're slightly older with a £500 deposit there is a chance that we can get you approved even though you've had a less than perfect past.

What car are you looking for and how much are you looking to borrow? Can you prove your income with payslips from the 2 jobs you have as that will be important.

When applying for finance if you could add a joint hirer or guarantor that'd improve your chances of being approved too. If approved we provide a no obligation quote and you can buy a car from any dealer. Hope that helps. Kind Regards, Rachel

I am 24 and have just passed my test yesterday 2/8/12. I am now looking to by a car, maybe a corsa or fiesta but have a really bad credit rating. Would i be approved if my parents acted as a guarantor for me even though they live at a different address?

Answer

Hi Roseann, well done on passing your test. We could potentially get you approved but if you have bad credit you'd definitely need a guarantor. It doesn't matter that your parents live at a separate address so please get their permission and apply when you're ready. Rachel
