Do you finance cars from private sellers?

Hi there, do you finance cars from private sellers as i might have located one i'm interested in?

Guy

Answer

Hi Guy, thank you for your question.

In certain circumstances we can provide finance for a car from a private seller but the car must obviously be HPI clear and also have an AA or RAC inspection carried out for our & your peace of mind. We also need to see proof that the person selling the car is also the registered owner. So, we need to see a copy of the V5 registration document and a passport / driving licence of the owner.

We do strongly advise people to get a car from a trustworthy local dealer though for obvious reasons. Buying a car privately can be a minefield and there are many scams out there.

Please make an application online and once accepted we provide a no obligation quote and you can buy a car from any dealer. Kind Regards, Rachel

Hi, two things. Firstly, I have a car on a finance agreement but I do not wish to keep it any longer. I have found a private-listed car that I wish to swap my current vehicle for. My credit score is 'fair'. Is it possible for me to attain a new finance agreement to purchase the new car I wish for whilst I still have finance on my current vehicle. Also, is it possible to get finance for a non-dealership car?

Answer

Hi Jamie, no car finance company will finance a car from a private individual. All cars have to be supplied by ourselves or another approved car dealer. We could take your current car off you in part exchange and settle the existing finance for you. If there is any equity in the vehicle we could use that as a deposit towards your new car. We could then get you approved for a new finance agreement on the new car of your choice. What car is it that you have found as we have access to hundreds of used vehicles. Rachel

Cool, yes I've applied not heard anything back yet. Why should I choose you and not any other company I used a similar company last time I got a car around the same value. What do you offer that is better than others?

Answer

Hi Craig, we don't charge any fees for our service and we HPI check and value the car you wish to buy. We also carry out the necessary checks on the supplying dealer to make sure you have no problems with them should a major fault occur with the car. Customer service is paramount within our business too so you can be assured of a quality service. What was your reference number and i'll check now? Rachel

Hi, I am after a Honda civic 2.2 ctdi.. Can you supply this?

Answer

Hi Jev, is the car from a dealership? If approved for finance you can find your own car but it can't be from a private individual.

Hello Rachel, it's not a proper dealership, more like a garage type dealer place. Also i dont have the best credit rating. I checked on experian and it's 687, with the main issues being: The usage of your available credit indicates a higher risk, The value of your highest credit limit indicates a higher risk,The number of credit accounts you are using is high. I've never had any defaults, ccj's , bankrupcy any of that sort, Never missed a payment on phone bills, mortgage and my current car finance, which i have about £2500 left to pay which i want to P/X against the new car. Not sure if its going to be possible. Would you be able to help at all? Am also in full tme employment earn about £1400 a month but the other factor again is that I am moving jobs in a weeks time where monthly income is going to be £1950 approx. I am also on my electoral roll. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

Answer

Hi Jev, as long as the dealer has a CCL (consumer credit licence) we can do business. If not you'll have to find an alternative car from another dealer. Your credit doesn't seem to bad, you have a good income and you're on the electoral roll so with that taken into account i'm confident we can help. You mention you wanted to part ex your current car and there is £2500 outstanding finance. How much is your car worth in the trade approx (Parkers.co.uk will give you a rough guide). Please apply when you feel ready and remember we can't finance cars from private individuals. Kind Regards, Rachel

Ok, if i made an application today, how long does everything take to process, suppose i have already found the car i want and dealer has a CCL. Also whislt going through the application how do i process it as i want to p/x and roll over the current finance and also the 2500 is what i work out it to be i assume the settlement figure is usually a bit less?

Answer

Hi Jev, if you applied today we'd have a decision within 1 hour. If you've already found the car you want you'd have to get the dealer to give you a part ex valuation and you'd need to get an exact settlement figure from your current finance company. Once the figures have been sorted out we send the documents to you for signing and then you send them back along with the requested proofs we ask for. All in all it should be sorted for Wednesday next week.
