Dealerships 'can increase BIMS sales with competitive car finance'

People heading to the British International Motor Show (BIMS) this year could find that they take advantage of a competitive offer from vehicle dealerships, it has been claimed.

According to the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA), firms are selling more new vehicles on finance packages to consumers than they were 12 months ago.

It added that point-of-sale car finance funded 49.3 per cent of all new private car sales in the year up to May 2008.

This is up from the 47 per cent recorded from 2006 to 2007.

Stephen Sklaroff, FLA director general, remarked that people need not worry about market conditions.

"Motor dealerships can help by offering competitive finance packages to fit all pockets. They can often serve customers finding it difficult to raise money elsewhere," he said.

The British International Motor Show is being held from July 23rd until August 3rd at ExCeL London.
