Brisk sales of the Mitsubishi Outlander vehicles could be driven by an increase in car finance deals.
The Japanese automobile manufacturer has seen production of the vehicle rise by 37.5 per cent in the European and Chinese markets.
It added that total vehicles sales in its home country, Japan, in June stood at 15,705 units, which is its tenth consecutive monthly decline and a decrease year-on-year of 12.3 per cent.
But it was not all bad news for the firm, as it announced that its Japanese production figures had increased.
"Production volume in Japan at 70,747 units was up 5.1 per cent, the 21st consecutive month of year-on-year growth and marking a new record for June," commented the company.
This comes as Mitsubishi has announced that it may be testing its new I MiEV electric car in California.
Autopia from Wired.com states that the vehicle is slightly smaller than a Honda Jazz.
