Car finance customers are turning to Volvo vehicles with increasing frequency this year, it has been claimed.
According to the firm, the new car market is down by three per cent this year compared to last but Volvo has seen a 20 per cent increase over the period.
Indeed, it revealed that from January to July it sold 17,079 units and in the same time this year some 21,155 were shifted.
Nick Connor, Volvo Cars UK sales director, cited sales of the Volvo V70 and S8 as significant to the increased figures.
"We've experienced a high level of interest in the Volvo range this year and we are confident this strong performance will continue throughout the rest of 2008," he said.
Meanwhile, Volvo Trucks recently announced that during July it saw a 14 per cent increase in vehicle deliveries, with 8,092 models sold compared to the previous year.
