C1 could save car loan customers cash

Motorists looking to take out a car loan in order to trade in their current model for something more economical and environmentally-friendly may want to consider the Citroen C1 1.4HDi.

Motorists looking to take out a car loan in order to trade in their current model for something more economical and environmentally-friendly may want to consider the Citroen C1 1.4HDi.

The model achieved 84.32 mpg in the ALD Automotive/Total Excellium MPG Marathon - which means one tank of fuel could take the car from Plymouth to Aberdeen.

According to the manufacturer, the vehicle was within 0.3 mpg of the overall winner.

Car loan customers may also be interested to hear that the C1 1.4HDi is available from just over £8,500.

In addition it produces carbon emissions of 109 g/km and qualifies for group one insurance costs.

During the marathon, the model travelled more than 400 miles on a variety of roads from motorways to winding country lanes.

Earlier this month, Citroen announced it was looking into the feasibility of creating an "ultra environmentally-friendly" vehicle based on the C-Cactus concept car.
