According to the manufacturer, the fact two of its motors appear in the top ten most economical rides in the new Which? Complete Guide to Greener Driving confirms its environmentally-friendly credentials.
The Panda 1.3 MultiJet was one of three models found to be capable of breaking the 60 mpg barrier, while the 500 1.3 MultiJet was revealed as the ninth most fuel-efficient car on the market managing 56.5 mpg.
Andrew Humberstone, managing director of Fiat in the UK, said: "It is excellent news when independent organisations, such as Which?, recognise the efforts we are making."
He added the company is "well-known for the fuel economy and low carbon footprint of its cars".
At this month's Paris Motor Show, Fiat unveiled eco:Drive - a system which helps motorists drive more efficiently in order to save money and reduce carbon emissions.
