Motorists who are considering taking out a car loan in order to buy a Fiat 500 may be interested to learn the manufacturer has released a special edition vehicle in collaboration with the fashion label Diesel.

The limited version of the motor is based on the Sport model and comes in metallic black, brown and green.

No more than 10,000 will be produced and they will feature 16-inch alloy wheels complete with the Diesel logo.

Buyers opting for the 100 bhp 1.4 edition will find the car also comes with yellow brake callipers.

The upholstery is made of denim and on the side of the front seats there is a pouch which resembles the fifth pocket of Diesel jeans.

A one-off vehicle signed by 30 artists - including Mark Ronson - who performed at the fashion label's 30th anniversary earlier this month is to be auctioned off for charity.

Marketing director with the carmaker Elena Bernardelli said: "The Fiat 500 is a perfect fit for Diesel and we are pleased to have this fantastic association with them."

In other news, the 1.3 MultiJet version of the model came ninth in a Which? guide to the UK's most fuel-efficient cars.
