Drivers planning on taking out a car loan in the new year to update their current vehicle may want to take a look at the revised Toyota Avensis.
Secretary of state for transport Geoff Hoon will today officially launch the start of production on the model, during a visit to the manufacturer's Burnaston plant in Derbyshire.
Commenting on the new vehicle, Katsunori Kojima, managing director of Toyota Manufacturing in the UK, stated: "In challenging economic conditions, the new generation Avensis offers customers advanced fuel saving technologies, reduced emissions, as well as enhanced levels of safety."
There will be four equipment grade levels on the updated car - which, the manufacturer stated, should mean the vehicle appeals to a wide range of customers.
According to Toyota, the model is due to go on sale in January 2009.
In other news, the manufacturer recently claimed the Auris has gained a competitive advantage in the C-segment hatchback market with the introduction of a new engine which delivers lower emissions, improved fuel economy and more power.
