The manufacturer has announced it will be passing on the full benefit of the 2.5 per cent cut in VAT to its customers with immediate effect, providing payment and legal transfers take place on or after the official start date of December 1st.
As a result, customers looking to buy a £15,000 Focus can expect to save about £350.
Commenting on the move, the manufacturer's chairman and managing director, Roelant de Waard, said: "We are pleased that the government has taken such decisive action and we hope the tax reduction will encourage more customers to visit their local Ford dealership."
However, he added the company was disappointed that duty on fuel had gone up at the same time.
In other news, the new Ford Fiesta was named Scottish Car of the Year earlier this month by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers.
