People planning on taking out car loans in the new year will be able to get their hands on the revised Mazda6 for less than £15,000.
The manufacturer has revealed when the 26-strong range arrives in showrooms in January, prices will start at £14,891 on the road.
In addition to the all-new MZR-CD 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine with a choice of three power outputs, the carmaker is also introducing a number of specification upgrades and an extra diesel model.
One of the specification upgrades sees 15 models from the £17,563 TS2 upwards receive Mazda's lane-change rear vehicle monitoring system.
This safety device warns drivers of an approaching vehicle before they move into a busy lane by mistake.
Sales director Mark Cameron said: "I'm certain that with the new Mazda6 we have the right car at the right time."
Meanwhile, the manufacturer recently announced the updated Mazda3 would be launched in Europe in spring 2009.
