According to the manufacturer, it ended 2008 with a new vehicle sales figure of 31,323 - an increase of more than six per cent compared with 2007.
Kia claimed the "remarkable response" to the cee'd range was partly responsible for its success last year, along with its "industry-leading" seven-year warranty.
Commenting on the manufacturer's performance in 2008, sales director Yaser Shabsogh admitted it had not been easy.
However, he added the company's "excellent product line-up and a fantastic network" meant it had "been able to go to the car buyers who are in the market and convince them of the sense of buying Kia".
In related news, the manufacturer's Sportage model recently claimed the Value for Money Champion title at the Planet 4x4 Awards for the third year in a row.
