Car loan customers looking for a new vehicle may be tempted by the Fiesta 1.25i Zetec after it was named the model of the year 2009.
What Car? magazine awarded the motor the honour, claiming no other supermini could compete with its 'look at me' factor.
The judges said the model's sharp edges and delicate curves gave it a "stylish" and "modern" appearance.
Commenting on the vehicle, editor of What Car? Steve Fowler stated: "It's practical enough to be used as a family car, fun enough to be used as a sports car and stylish enough to make the right impression."
He also pointed out the Fiesta is affordable, cheap to run and environmentally-friendly.
Meanwhile, people taking out car loans for something a bit bigger may want to consider the Ford Mondeo, which was named number one estate and top family car for 2009 by What Car?.
Earlier this month, Peter Mandelson visited the manufacturer's Bridgend plant.
