New engine may impress car loans customers

Car loans customers keen to invest in a fuel-efficient, eco-friendly model when they trade in their current vehicle may be impressed by a recent innovation from Fiat Group.

Car loans customers keen to invest in a fuel-efficient, eco-friendly model when they trade in their current vehicle may be impressed by a recent innovation from Fiat Group.

The company revealed it has developed a petrol engine that cuts consumption, boosts power and reduces CO2 emissions.

MultiAir technology will initially be incorporated into a 16-valve 1.4-litre unit and the first car to arrive in showrooms with the system will be the Alfa Mito at the end of the year.

Power will be increased by up to ten per cent and CO2 emissions and fuel consumption reduced by the same amount, the manufacturer explained.

This comes after Fiat was recently named the carmaker with the lowest average emissions for the second consecutive year.

Last week, the firm launched an online campaign for its new Qubo model.

The marketing initiative featured a promotional video and free downloads from the singer James Morrison.
