Motorists looking to take out car loans for a new vehicle in the coming months may want to consider something from the BMW group after its recent success at the Fleet News awards.

The event's judging panel chose models produced by the company for five out of a possible 11 product accolades.

It awarded the new BMW 7 Series the title of Best Luxury Car, the X5 was named top SUV, the 1 Series drove away with the crown in the small premium vehicle category and the 5 Series clinched first place in the executive premium motor class.

On top of this, the Mini range - which is owned by the BMW group - was recognised for offering the best residual value.

Corporate operations manager Stephan Chater commented: "This is a fantastic result and underscores the competitive advantage the BMW group enjoys in the marketplace."

Earlier this year, the manufacturer's long-wheelbase 730Ld went on sale in the UK.
