A new Volkswagen being unveiled at the Leipzig motor show may inspire drivers across the UK to consider taking out car loans.
The diesel-powered Golf GTD can accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 8.1 seconds before powering on to a top speed of 136 mph.
In addition to this, it offers average fuel consumption of 53.3 mpg and is capable of covering more than 650 miles on one tank of fuel.
Volkswagen also praised the vehicle's green credentials, pointing out it boasts CO2 emissions of 139 g/km.
The appearance of the GTD was described as being significantly different from the standard Golf's.
It comes with 17-inch alloys and the same honeycomb grille, front-end design and badge style as the GTI.
Car loans customers in the UK will be able to order the Golf GTD from the end of April and it will arrive in showrooms on June 22nd.
Prices are yet to be confirmed, but Volkswagen said they will start at less than £22,000.
Meanwhile, the recently released version of the Golf was named Best Small Family Car at the Fleet News awards.
