Drivers looking to take out car loans for a sporty new motor may be interested in two new additions to Mazda's line-up.
The manufacturer has introduced a pair of Mazda2 1.6D Sport editions, so that customers can now choose between 1.4 68 ps and 1.6 90 ps powertrains.
Buyers can also opt for either the TS2 or Sport equipment level - with three-door and five-door versions of the vehicle available.
According to the company, the Mazda2 1.6D Sport offers class-leading fuel economy and performance.
The model can accelerate from standing to 62 mph in 11.4 seconds and recorded over 50 mpg in its official urban cycle assessment.
In terms of its green credentials, the vehicle releases 112 g/km of carbon dioxide, meaning owners would qualify to pay road tax of £35 per year.
Sales and marketing director Mark Cameron commented: "It is the naturally sporty choice for supermini car buyers."
In other news, the updated Mazda3 is due to arrive in UK showrooms next month, priced from £13,500.
