Hybrids on a downward spiral with car finance buyers

We are constantly inundated with demands for the public to become ‘green’. From the melting ice caps, to ex-Vice President of American, Al Gore preaching and shaking his head in disapproval.

We are constantly inundated with demands for the public to become ‘green’. From the melting ice caps, to ex-Vice President of American, Al Gore preaching and shaking his head in disapproval. It seems everyone is hopping on the environment band-wagon.

Well, almost everybody. New figures have suggested that an incredibly small 1 per cent of new car finance applications for the commercially sold and controversial ‘green’ hybrid vehicle.

If you think about it, that really is a staggering figure. Even endorsements from Hollywood film stars like Tom Cruise and George Clooney can’t boost the sales. And this begs the question, are we, as a nation, taking to the idea of clean vehicles?

Time will tell if we are, but one thing is for certain, hybrids, electric and hydrogen cars are here to stay for the long haul – unfortunately.
