Toyota shows car finance buyers that sales aren’t everything.

We reported a couple of days ago that car finance buyers tend to avoid the new trend with ‘green’ hybrid vehicles. Well, despite this, Toyota has hit back and shown that even without a strong finance following, its little hybrid Prius is doing just fine.

Over two million units of the Prius have been shipped worldwide by the end of September. It’s an incredible feat when you consider the Prius was launched in 1997 when the world wasn’t exactly comfortable with the idea of alternative solutions.

Toyota has also stated that the emissions saved due to the Prius’ electric motor comes to around 11 million tonnes of CO2 emissions compared to similarly sized petrol cars.
