News can often be very repetitive, but non-more-so than the industry wide recall issues we are currently having. Just a couple of days ago, carfinace24/7 reported that Toyota had announced its second recall in a year, and now Honda has joined the party.
Again, it’s the American market that has suffered, as 472,000 cars in the country have been recalled due to a brake defect. The issue is similar to that of the Toyota recall as both companies use the same brake manufacturer.
Will Honda’s finances be affected? Possibly, but it is the reputational damage that the company will be more worried about. Japanese brands are seen throughout the world as the most reliable, could the winds of change be swirling? We’ll have to wait and see.
