Nissan makes it a financial hat-trick for Japanese car makers

They say bad luck comes in threes – and with Lewis Hamilton proving that theory over the past 4 races, Nissan has decided to tighten the screw, too.

The Japanese marque has announced a global recall for 2.1m cars. The issue is a problem with the ignition system, which could cause the engine to stall.

Currently, around 83,000 cars in the UK are thought to be affected, but it’s much worse for the countries around the world. Happily, Nissan says that no accidents have been reported since the fault was discovered.

Will the news affect the company’s car finance? Probably not; Nissan is a big enough outfit to take the financial hit on the chin. Still, it’s the third time this year a Japanese brand has called for a recall – not good when they are renowned worldwide for reliability.
