Skoda girds its loins; will it appeal to car finance customers?

Skoda is a name that is steeped in history, great cars and sniggering neighbors. The latter is a stigma that has been carried from generation to generation – but is it applicable nowadays?

Skoda is a name that is steeped in history, great cars and sniggering neighbors. The latter is a stigma that has been carried from generation to generation – but is it applicable nowadays? We think not, as car finance buyers may be interested to know that the VAG owned marque is producing cars that are not only half-decent, but very good indeed.

Take the new Skoda vRS as case in point. The new ad-campaign shows the vRS is a mean, green (and not in an environmental way) and fast hot-hatch. And it looks good, too. Skoda is hoping that the new ad – which we like very much – will entice customers away from their German or Japanese cars and try the brand for the first time.

Heidi Cartledge, national communications manager at Skoda UK said: "This is one of our biggest campaigns ever in the UK and designed to engage our brand with new audiences."
