The time has finally come to up the VAT to 20%, and while it may all be doom and gloom, Subaru has decided to offer car finance buyers a New Year treat. The 2011MY STI WRX Impreza will be offered without the 2.5% VAT increase.

This will allow consumers to buy the STI for £32,995 and avoid the Government’s increase. And according to Subaru the STI isn’t the only model that will feature such a price freeze. Apparently, 80 per cent of the manufacturer’s range will stay at the original price.

"For the vast majority of our customers the decision not to pass on the VAT rise is great news, particularly anyone in the market for a Forester, Legacy, Outback or WRX STI Type UK,” said Kenyon Neads, Subaru UK marketing director.
