Car insurers told to cut finance boosting software

Car insurance companies have been given a right telling off by the Office of Fair Trading. Apparently, seven firms which include Aviva, AXA, RBS and Zurich have been using Experian computer software to share information regarding pricing.

Car insurance companies have been given a right telling off by the Office of Fair Trading. Apparently, seven firms which include Aviva, AXA, RBS and Zurich have been using Experian computer software to share information regarding pricing.

The software named Whatif? could have helped the companies keep their prices high and stay around the level that the other insurers were offering. They have all been subsequently told off and have all agreed to stop using the system.
