Toyota suffers another car recall – financial disaster

2011 is a new year and a new start, but not for Toyota. The Japenese marque was hoping to put its couple of years of hell behind them, but it seems that won’t be the case. It has announced another recall in the UK which affects 19,000 cars.

2011 is a new year and a new start, but not for Toyota. The Japenese marque was hoping to put its couple of years of hell behind them, but it seems that won’t be the case. It has announced another recall in the UK which affects 19,000 cars.

It’s a car finance disaster for the ‘reliable’ marque – we can only imagine what its PR division is currently going through. The recall will fix a potential ‘fuel leak’ that could arise if not fixed by Toyota’s mechanics.

Apparently, the 19,000 cars affect certain Toyota Avensis models and Lexus IS 250 models. Avensis 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre petrol models produced between July 2000 and September 2008 will be eligible for the fix. While Lexus IS 250 petrol models made between August 2007 and February 2009 are also eligible.
