Malta’s car finance scrappage scheme is extended

We Brits weren’t the only country to use the now famous scrappage scheme to boost the economy, as Malta has been getting in on the act, too.

We Brits weren’t the only country to use the now famous scrappage scheme to boost the economy, as Malta has been getting in on the act, too. According to Malta Today, the scrappage scheme announced in their last budget has been prolonged and extended by 1,000 cars or until November.

Car finance Minister, Tonio Fenech, said that the scheme has proved a great success: “The scheme was snatched up and we felt that we should consider its extension even because the budget allocated for the scheme allows us to do so.”

Will Britain ever see the scrappage scheme again after it proved to be so popular? Let’s hope if we do, it’s not thanks to another recession.
