Car blunder for tycoon; finances take a hit

You know what it’s like; you’re drink-driving, you’ve been caught by the police and you offer them a £100k sportscar to get off the hook. That’s what we all do, right? Sarcasm aside, this is exactly what fashion tycoon George Davies did when he was pulled over by two cops.

You know what it’s like; you’re drink-driving, you’ve been caught by the police and you offer them a £100k sportscar to get off the hook. That’s what we all do, right? Sarcasm aside, this is exactly what fashion tycoon George Davies did when he was pulled over by two cops. The car finance blunder saw Davies offering his £100,000 Maserati Quattroporte to the officers in a swap deal that would see him off the hook.

Unsurprisingly, the officers declined the offer and subsequently booked Davies for the offence. PC Jonathon Rice said Davies was "obviously in drink, said we could have his Maserati if the matter was dropped. I took that as somebody in drink saying something they didn't mean."

Oh dear, It seems money hasn’t got you off the hook this time Mr. Money Bags, has it?
