Saab comes closer to car finance security

As Saab’s continued troubles with car finance becomes ever more publically aware, the company has taken a step in the right direction with the confirmation of the £220m finance deal that a mystery Chinese buyer placed.

As Saab’s continued troubles with car finance becomes ever more publically aware, the company has taken a step in the right direction with the confirmation of the £220m finance deal that a mystery Chinese buyer placed. More good news, too, as the company has just announced plans to make three new models – brave talk, indeed.

Of the models, the most intriguing has to be a small city car dubbed the 9-1. Saab has never entered such a market and it will be battling it out with the MINI and the Fiat 500 for supremacy. Mr. Pang Qingnian, CEO of Youngman, said: "The Saab '9-6X' and Saab '9-7' will be key to enhancing the prestige of the Saab brand to an even larger group of customers in China and the US, while the entry level Saab '9-1' will appeal to urban motorists around the globe."

Exciting times then for Saab, or is this just a load of PR rubbish meant to distract us from the real turmoil? Time will tell.
