Record attempts have become a regular occurrence over the past few years. From the Bloodhound to motorbike records, we’ve seen them all, but now car finance driver and motorbike enthusiast Anthony Hopkin has decided that he wanted to be the fastest man on two wheels – and thus took on the record for motorbike top speed.
The old record stood at 278mph – which is pretty brisk – but Hopkin managed to hit 311mph. That’s 311mph on a bike with two wheels. Jesus Christ, that guy has balls.
The hand-built turbo-charged Suzuki Hayabusa, however, couldn’t hit the same speed on the return leg and, as a result, the old record still remains.
Let’s hope Hopkin can try again and destroy that pedestrian record!
