Parking charges no good for car finance drivers in London

A London council has come under scrutiny for its plans to introduce parking charges on Sundays. Protestors and angry residents have joined forces to try and stop Westminster Council’s plans to charge car finance drivers to park at Church.

A London council has come under scrutiny for its plans to introduce parking charges on Sundays. Protestors and angry residents have joined forces to try and stop Westminster Council’s plans to charge car finance drivers to park at Church.

Churchgoers have said it will affect thousands and that the plans are unfair. Father William Pearsall, from Farm Street Catholic church, Mayfair, said: "Our volunteer community activities are really valuable and would present a huge loss to the local community if these plans affect our volunteers."

While Councillor Lee Rowley said that the Council had the "duty to everyone who lives, works or visits the heart of the capital to ensure they have a reasonable expectation of finding a place to park".

It sounds like this battle could be a long one.
