Lotus Renault GP has announced that they have dropped German driver Nick Heidfeld for the Belgian Grand Prix this weekend at Spa. In his place will be lovable Brazilian Bruno Senna, and word in the paddock is he will drive for the last 8 remaining races.

The 27-year-old, ex-Hispania racer will be driving his first race of 2011 and will have to come to terms with the DRS and KERS systems that he’s never driven with before. Heidfeld, however, will have to sit out and sulk, but while he may be unhappy, it did seem inevitable that he would be dropped as the German has had a less than successful return this year.

The car finance Spa race will be on this weekend and we’ll be hoping for a British winner.
