Electronic nanny for Ford car finance drivers

Ford will be introducing it’s hugely popular MyKey technology to the European market in 2012. The system effectively allows worried parents the knowledge that their kids can’t drive the Ford stupidly. It stops the young driver from turning on the radio before seatbelts are fastened and even disables the ability to switch the ESP off – so they can’t go drifting!

According to the Blue Oval, the system will feature on the 2012 Focus and then trickle down to the rest of the car finance range. It seems like a great bit of tech for the parents, but it seems unlikely that the young drivers will appreciate it.
