Electric cars face massive car finance overhaul

Electric cars like the Nissan LEAF will be forced to change if they are to remain commercially and environmentally viable in the future, says the EU.

Electric cars like the Nissan LEAF will be forced to change if they are to remain commercially and environmentally viable in the future, says the EU. The problem lies with the materials used to create the batteries, as they dramatically harm the environment.

James Widmer, from the University of Newcastle, has said that things must change for car finance cars.

"If we are to pursue electric and hybrid vehicles as a truly greener option then we need to look not only at the fuel but also the materials we are using to develop the various components," says Widmer.

So it seems that electrics may not be as ‘green’ as we’ve been led to believe. Keep your eye on this story.
