BMW 3-Series designer defends new model

The BMW 3-Series, a popular car to finance, has always been quite a conservative car, but with the newest version BMW really have kept it simple. That may or may not be a good thing, and some in the industry have criticised BMW for playing it safe with the new 3, but BMW’s design boss Adrian van Hooydonk (awesome name, right?) has come out to defend his car.

Talking to Inside Line, van Hooydonk said that the new 3 is “quite a big step forwards” and used the ethos of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’.

"It remains identifiable as part of the BMW family. Even if you took the badge off, you'd know what it was," said the man with the brilliant name.

But what do you think? Is the new 3-Series a car you’d be proud of sitting on your drive?
