Car finance woes for SUV-seller
You can’t beat that new car smell, right? Well, apparently not; as a man in the US is suing his dealer because his car smelt of dead bodies. Only in America!
You can’t beat that new car smell, right? Well, apparently not; as a man in the US is suing his dealer because his car smelt of dead bodies. Only in America! Margarita Salais has filed a lawsuit against her car finance dealer that sold her the 2006 Ford Expedition in New Baltimore, Michigan, because she’s convinced the Ford once had a dead body inside it.
Salais wants £16,000 for her nostrils being violated, and with this being America, chances are she will get it. The suing culture in the US is one of the most easy to do practices, so we wouldn’t be surprised if she manages to get a result with this one.
Her lawyer, DaniLiblang, said: "What's not very credible or likely is that the dealer didn't know it was a daily rental or had been stolen three times. That should've been fairly obvious from the title history,” he said, speaking to Detroit News.
"If it turns out that the dealer knew or had reason to know about this dead body thing, then I think my client is entitled to more."
