Audi buys Ducati for £1.1bn

Audi has been on a car finance mission to seem interesting by buying Italian bike manufacturer Ducati for £1.1bn. The purchase has come to head due to Audi’s ambitions to take on BMW in the motorbike and superbike segment, and with Ducati now under its wing, you wouldn’t put it past them!

Audi has been on a car finance mission to seem interesting by buying Italian bike manufacturer Ducati for £1.1bn. The purchase has come to head due to Audi’s ambitions to take on BMW in the motorbike and superbike segment, and with Ducati now under its wing, you wouldn’t put it past them!
 
The deal will apparently pay off Ducati’s £150 million debt, but according to Audi the deal will enhance their sporting creditentials – but that one is certainly up for debate. All we know is that Audi typically does quite a good job of buying companies and then making them better and more efficient – see Lamborghini as a prime example.
 
We’ll keep our eyes on this one.
