Buy Petrol, not Diesel?

The often-debated argument about which is best – petrol or diesel – has been circulating pubs across the country for years, but now, according to the leading car auctioneer, BCA, the argument could be over. According to the BCA, we should go for a petrol car in today’s climate, as the financials speak for themselves.

According to the BCA, we should go for a petrol car in today’s climate, as the financials speak for themselves.
 
Tony Gannon, BCA Communications Director said: "There can be little argument that the average price of a diesel car always outperforms that of a similar average petrol model... However, when looking at the retained value over the typical 40 month working life of a volume fleet & lease car, the petrol car – perhaps surprisingly – is the stronger performer by some three percentage points."
 
It’s another point that will surely be heard across the industry, but a consumer’s choice often comes down to how they drive and where they drive. It’s probably just different strokes for different folks.
