Chevrolet Signs Man United Deal Then Sacks Employee

Chevrolet is celebrating signing off a huge shirt sponsorship deal with world-famous football club Manchester United by, weirdly, sacking the man who signed the deal off. The GM-owned company has sacked Joel Ewanick because he “failed to meet the expectations of the company has for its employees” – pretty harsh, right?

Whatever though, because it’s big news for Chevrolet who, let’s be honest, are struggling to find much footing in the tough UK motor industry. Its car just aren’t impressing us enough, but perhaps a high-profile sponsorship deal with Man UTD will help them infiltrate the industry a bit more.

There’s been no indication of how much Chevrolet has paid, but we reckon it’s probably more than 50 quid.
