Dartford Crossing Price Hikes!

Motorists who have ever crossed the Dartford Bridge or gone through the tunnel will know that the toll prices are fairly high. Now though, thanks to the government, the toll has risen once again, which has sparked outrage from motoring groups and The AA.

Motorists who have ever crossed the Dartford Bridge or gone through the tunnel will know that the toll prices are fairly high. Now though, thanks to the government, the toll has risen once again, which has sparked outrage from motoring groups and The AA. The rise seeks the price for a car hit £2, while two-axle goods vehicles will have to pay up £2.50 and HGV drivers a mighty £5.

The increase has been met with such distain due to the crossing’s continued charge system which, in theory, should have stopped charging motorists ten years ago when the crossing was paid for.

But will the government listen? It seems unlikely, but for many the crossing remains the only place to get to and from places, so it is seen as a necessity.

It seems like we’re being charged more and more for no obvious benefit – no wonder there’s outrage!
