Racing Drivers Pay Most for Insurance

Car insurance is a bug-bear for all of us, especially in today’s financial climate. We’re all trying to achieve the cheapest premium, so it will come as no surprise that what you do as an occupation will drastically alter your quoted premium. If the insurers dub you as ‘high risk’, you will have to pay more. And with the prices being as high as they are, it’s no wonder people are worried every time their renewal quote comes through the door.

Thankfully, however, there is some salvation. According to MoneySupermarket.com, racing drivers pay more for insurance than anyone else – which may not be surprising, but at least racing drivers are in the minority. The price comes from their high-octane lifestyles and risk-factor attached to the stigma, so if you’re Lewis Hamilton you’re probably going to be paying a lot more to run a supercar than Dave down the road.

Still, with such big salaries, we’re sure they won’t have an issue coughing up the extra funds.
