Supermarkets Cut Fuel Prices

Christmas is almost upon us – how did that happen, right? Anyway, it turns out Asda and Sainsbury’s are feeling festive, as the supermarkets have reduced petrol prices by 1p per litre and diesel by 2p per litre. It’s a great move from the stores and should see motorists through an expensive December, but it is worth wondering if the prices will continue falling into the New Year.

Will we ever be back down to around £1.00 a litre, or is that just wishful thinking?

RAC technical director David Bizley said: "It really is starting to look like Christmas. Not only have we persuaded the Chancellor to scrap January's 3p-a-litre fuel duty increase, but now supermarkets are making festive travel more affordable.”

So the RAC are happy, but are you? Is this reduction enough to ease the Christmas expense?
