Motorists looking to pick up a prestige car have been advised that buying a one or two year old car could be a real bargain.
EurotaxGlass's reports that after a year top-end vehicles such as the 7 Series BMW and S-Class Mercedes are around 30 per cent cheaper than on the forecourt.
Also, many of the high-spec add-ons like premium brand audio systems, TV receivers and cruise control packages drop in value by more than 70 per cent in a year, making prestige motoring with all the bells and whistles even more affordable.
"These hi-tech options play an important role in seducing potential buyers of new prestige-brand cars, but weak residual values suggests that used car buyers remain unconvinced,"said Richard Crosthwaite, prestige car editor at EurotaxGlass's.
"This is partly due to concerns about long-term technical reliability, but more significantly there is the perception that upgrading systems such as cruise control and audio brings limited additional benefit," he added.
Selecting a competitive car finance deal can help you drive away in your dream car that bit quicker, whether you're in the market for a Mercedes or a Mondeo.
